We don't just work on land. Thanks completely to the influence of our friends in the Maritime Rescue Institute at Stonehaven in our early days we undertook training and operational work with them. Sadly, MRI suffered devastating damage to their fleet of lifeboats and building in 2012 and no longer exists.

We have our own rescue boats and have a fully trained and kitted team of water rescue personnel. We even trained a water rescue dog - Aiyla, who has gone on to work for the organisation 'Aiyla Says' in South Ayrshire.

Each year our water rescue crews cover the West Highland Race at Loch Lomond, the Kirkintilloch Canal Festival and other events.

So far in 2014 we have also covered the Lanrick Challenge for the Sandpiper Trust and help our Wounded Marines, escorted the Queens Baton relay on the Forth & Clyde Canal at Kirkintilloch and provided two safety boats on the River Clyde in the heart of Glasgow during the Commonwealth Games over five days, rescuing a man from his sinking canoe in the process.
